I am Welcome Stokien, and I’m running for City Council because I have seen the challenges our families and workers face firsthand. Chillicothe needs a fresh, problem-solving approach, ensuring that policies reflect the needs of our community rather than bureaucratic inefficiencies. We have a lot to do, and I’m ready to get to work. If elected, I would work to create change in key areas:

Chillicothe is rapidly becoming a destination city, bringing new opportunities and economic growth. While this is exciting, we must ensure that this growth benefits everyone, not just a few major corporations. I will work to:

Addressing Homelessness & Housing Affordability
Housing is a fundamental need, and no one should have to choose between rent and basic necessities. Chillicothe must take a proactive approach to:

Expand affordable housing options to keep the cost of living within reach for working families

Strengthen supportive services for those experiencing homelessness, in partnership with local organizations, churches, and state agencies

Develop temporary solutions that provide safety and stability while long-term housing solutions are implemented.
